Together for Tolerance: Strengthening Minority Rights and Inclusion (2025–2027)

This initiative aims to strengthen the protection of minority rights, promote religious inclusion and social cohesion, and enhance access to justice through community empowerment, legal literacy, and policy advocacy. Implemented by PCHR across Sindh, Punjab, and Islamabad Capital Territory, the project seeks to build sustainable mechanisms for advancing minority rights and fostering dialogue between communities and policymakers.

Project Achievements

Key outcomes achieved through community empowerment, institutional engagement, legal literacy and policy advocacy.

Implemented across 11 districts in Sindh, Punjab, and Islamabad Capital Territory, expanding outreach and support for religious minority communities.

Engaged more than 1,000 community members in legal literacy initiatives, increasing awareness of constitutional rights, legal protections, and available redress mechanisms.

Established 03 Legal Aid Clinic in Rawalpindi, providing accessible legal assistance and support services to vulnerable and marginalized individuals from minority communities.

Engaged over 165 parliamentarians in policy dialogue and advocacy efforts to strengthen legislative and institutional responses to minority rights issues.

Facilitated the formation and engagement of Parliamentary Working Groups on Minority Rights, creating a structured platform for legislative advocacy and reform discussions.

Promoted awareness of religious diversity and inclusion, strengthening understanding and acceptance among communities through outreach and awareness activities.

Established sustainable linkages between communities, legal service providers, and policymakers, contributing to a more inclusive and responsive framework for the protection and promotion of minority rights.

Commemorating International Human Rights Day 2025

PCHR commemorates International Human Rights Day annually by convening parliamentarians, government representatives, diplomats, UN agencies, civil society organizations, human rights experts, and development practitioners to strengthen dialogue on the interlinkages between human rights, SDG 16, and peaceful, inclusive societies. The event also serves as a platform to recognize Pakistan’s human rights progress and challenges, and to honor outstanding human rights defenders through the presentation of Human Rights Awards in acknowledgment of their valuable contributions to the promotion and protection of human rights in Pakistan.

International Democracy Day

PCHR commemorates the International Day of Democracy annually by bringing together parliamentarians, government representatives, diplomats, civil society organizations, academics, youth, and development practitioners to promote dialogue on democratic governance, public participation, accountability, and the rule of law. The event serves as a platform to reaffirm democratic values, highlight the vital role of parliaments in advancing peace, justice, human rights, and sustainable development, and encourage inclusive engagement in strengthening democratic institutions in Pakistan.

National Women Police Conference

PCHR organized a series of Women Police Conferences, concluding on National Women Police Conference at Islamabad. The objective of the activity was to establishment of Women Police Councils in multiple regions, contributed to increasing women’s recruitment quotas, and supported improvements in infrastructure and survivor-centric approaches within police stations

16 Days of Activism Campaign against Gender-Based Violence

Each year, PCHR marks the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence with a robust series of events aimed at raising awareness, strengthening institutional responses, and promoting inclusive justice. In Previous year, PCHR organized trainings for mediation committees on gender-sensitive dispute resolution, national consultations on pro-women laws, and seminars addressing inclusive policing, media’s role in combating GBV, and violence in academic institutions. These activities engaged a wide spectrum of stakeholders—judiciary, law enforcement, media professionals, academics, civil society, and youth—fostering dialogue and capacity-building. The campaign culminated in a Human Rights Day seminar, reinforcing the commitment to dignity, freedom, and justice for all, and aligning with the UN’s global theme “UNITE! Activism to end violence against women and girls.” Through these efforts, PCHR continues to advocate for systemic change and a society free from gender-based violence
