Provision of Support for Police Reforms in Gender Equality and Women Empowerment

PCHR in collaboration with PASS (Police Awam Sath Sath) initiated a project titled “Supporting Police reforms agenda with a focus on Gender Equality and women empowerment”consisting of three major components. The objective of this component is to enhance the networking and learning opportunities to promote women’s status and leadership in the police service and facilitate gender-just policing practices primarily on the issues of crimes against women.

Specific Objectives of WPN

  1. Inspire women police officials to collectively think and act to enhance their role and recognition within their organisations.
  2. Raise awareness and understanding of the issues affecting women within the police service.
  3. Contribute to the professional development of women police officials and have their perspective on policing matters.
  4. Promote attitudinal and procedural change toward handling crimes against women.
  5. Facilitate women police liaison with the community to better understand the security needs of women.
