The Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR), in collaboration with Media Matters for Democracy (MMfD), Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), and Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) held an important briefing on the newly established “Journalist Alert Online Application.
The press conference was attended by key stakeholders including Mr.Shafique Chaudhry, Executive Director, PCHR, Mr. Arshad Ansari (Secretary General, PFUJ & President Lahore Press Club), Mr.Azar Jatoi, President National Press Club, Mr. Tariq Virk (President, RIUJ), Asif Bashir Chaudhry, and Mr. Asad Baig (Executive Director, MMfD).
Shafique Chaudhry, Executive Director of PCHR highlighted that “This initiative bridges the data gap and enables a rapid, location-based response to protect press freedom. It’s a step toward institutional accountability and digital safety for journalists.”
The formal launching of this journalist alert application will be held on 3rd May World Press Freedom Day he announced.
