The Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR), in collaboration with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), launched the Minority Communities Policing Forum to foster trust between law enforcement and minority groups. The initiative focuses on police reforms, cultural sensitivity, and equal rights through policy dialogues, training, and expert consultations. The formal launch was held on January 14, 2025, in Islamabad, with participation from senior officials and lawmakers. High-level dialogues and training sessions addressed discriminatory policing, lack of quota implementation, and fair investigations. Recommendations included legal reforms, police training on religious sensitivity, and improved accountability. IG Islamabad pledged to consider the proposals for policy action. Expert consultations offered further strategies for inclusive policing and protection of minority rights, with strong support from Canadian and Pakistani stakeholders.
